Introducing: Hi-Res Audio Streaming from Napster
The following post comes from Napster’s Newsroom.
New smartphones, wearables and TVs – oh my! Those are just a few of the consumer electronic products expected to be unveiled at IFA 2016 in Berlin, September 2-7, the second largest technology trade show behind CES.
Speaking of unveil and IFA, we’re excited to share that this year Napster has had the great fortune of partnering with Sony’s Audio to introduce a new high-quality premium music experience to IFA attendees: Hi-Res Audio Streaming from Napster.
What in the world is Hi-Res Audio? Well, put simply, it’s a higher quality sound experience. Hi-Res is short for “high-resolution” and reflects a higher sample rate than what you typically hear when streaming from Napster’s existing 40 million-track catalog, by starting with higher quality original artist recordings.
Is there really a noticeable difference in sound? We think so, but you be the judge. If you’re heading IFA this year, come check it out: The new Hi-Res Audio music streaming experience from Napster will be demoed with Sony’s home audio products in Sony’s booth (Hall 20) throughout the event.
And we’d love to hear what you think! Snap a photo at the Hi-Res Audio demo and tweet about your experience using #SonyIFA #IFA2016 #NapsterHiRes, tag @Napster and @Sony, and we’ll give you a free 6-month trial to listen to all the music you love and more with Napster.
Can’t make it to IFA? Stay tuned for a chance to check out the beta later this year, or hold out for the real deal, coming Spring 2017.
We can’t wait to show you what’s next. #SonyIFA #IFA2016 #NapsterHiRes
