See what fans are saying with waveform comments on mobile
This post comes from Soundcloud’s blog.
You know that feeling: You just dropped a new track with a fire bassline. You check your page and see someone commented,
And now, we’re bringing commenting directly to SoundCloud’s iconic
waveform, making it easier than ever to join the conversation. Comments
on the waveform let you instantly see what listeners and other creators are saying about tracks and exactly when they’re being inspired to react, in real time and on the go. You can
use this feedback to shape future releases and engage with your
audience; all you have to do is tap the comment and reply back.
These visual timestamped comments also act as a deeper stat for you
to see how your track’s performing…no number crunching required. One
glance at the waveform shows you how many people are talking. And fans
will take note, too: the more they can see they’re on the pulse of
what’s new and next in music, the more likely they are to keep coming
back to connect with you and your tracks.
Join the conversation
- Open the full-screen player and see comments appear on the waveform of a track. (Note, you’ll need to have the latest version of SoundCloud app and track must already have comments.)
- Click the comment when it appears on the waveform to view the full comment thread.
- Once the thread appears, leave a new comment or reply to another user’s comment at a specific moment in the track.
- See your response come to life on the waveform.
Even if you don’t have an Android, your fans that do will see the comment bubbles float by on their waveforms, so don’t worry, they’re still talking. Make sure you’re keeping the conversation going by checking your comments and replying back.
