Germany’s Melt! Festival Completes its Crazy 2015 Lineup
Germany’s Melt! Festival – which returns to its gritty home in Ferropolis on the 17-19 July weekend – is renowned for conjuring up incredible lineups. In 2015, the tradition continues. Melt! has now announced the final names for this summer, and you’ll find the whole cast assembled alphabetically on the poster below.
As we wrote in our feature on festival destinations you’ll never want to leave, Melt! takes place on a former mining site-turned-industrial monument, with much of the equipment still left intact. Oversized disco balls hang from towering excavators, decommissioned machines from an age long past now loom silent and dormant, as thousands rave at their feet.
A setting that dramatic needs music to match, and there’s a whole lot to see across three days and nights. (The festival runs through to the early hours of the morning, then continues on the infamous ‘Sleepless Floor.’) In 2015, live headliners include La Roux, Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, Hercules & Love Affair, Santigold, Alt-J and even Kylie Minogue.
The festival will also showcase live sets from Audion, Mathias Kaden, Hudson Mohawke, David August, Tiefschwarz and KiNK, plus special guests like Flume, The Orb and Giorgio Moroder. Naturally, there’s a who’s who of German DJs on the bill too, including Rødhåd, Sven Väth, Marcel Dettmann, Ellen Allien and Modeselektor. Marvel at it all below.
